The weather Gods have decreed it to be cloudy with a very high (90%) chance of showers, most likely in the morning and afternoon. Snow falling above 900 metres. The chance of a thunderstorm in the late morning and afternoon. Possible hail in the late morning and afternoon. Winds west to northwesterly 25 to 35 km/h tending west to southwesterly 25 to 40 km/h during the day then decreasing to 15 to 20 km/h in the late evening. Trust the weather of late has is not been hampering our rides. It appears the weekend might not be any better as the forecast for Saturday is for a cloudy day and unfortunately with a high (70%) chance of showers, most likely in the afternoon and evening. As advised in the last post and email Brandy Creek Winery is being renovated and the cafe will be shut until September. This being the case we will be starting from Yarragon this Saturday departing at 8am. Park and meet in the Hahns Lane car park (rear of the shops). Gita and Carolyn will oversee the ride as IdB is away for a couple of weeks.

This Saturday looks like it will be a better day to ride as compared to the very windy days we have been experiencing. 8am depart from Darnum.

Please note that the following Saturday is the last ride for the month of May. Brandy Creek Winery is under renovations and the cafe will not be operating for at least three months. Rather than just using Brandy Creek Winery’s carpark it has been suggested we start from a different venue where there are toilets and where we can have coffee after our ride.

As a trial, the ride for Saturday 28 May 2016 is to depart from Yarragon at our usual time –  8am. Park at the rear of the shops where there is abundant cap parking spaces.

The suggested ride course is to ride to Westbury along North Canal Road and return via Araluen Road. Estimated distance 45km

Gita is organising a  Bingo night to raise funds for her students to support the building of a  library including Khmer books in Cambodia. If the Bingo night last year is any thing to go by this will also be a very interesting and entertaining night.

It’s the last Saturday of the month so we ride the Jindivick course starting from Brandy Creek Winery at 8am.

There will be a ride on ANZAC Day (Monday 25 April 2016) departing at 8am from the carpark next to the Drouin Bowling Club. The ride will be around 40km round trip to Labertouche and back. Drouin Gourmet Deli will be open so we’ll finish our ride with a catch up and coffee there.

It will also be another good riding weather morning. It is forecasted to be sunny with patchy fog in the morning and light winds. Overnight temperatures falling to between 7 and 10 with daytime temperatures reaching between 19 and 24.
