Hi all, Trust you continues to be fit and well under this Covid19 reality. The restrictions and lockdowns have tightened. It would be best to suspend our Saturday group ride tomorrow. We are under Stage 3 restrictions one of which is the “stay at home” rule, to quote the Dept of Health and unman Services notices state:

“The Victorian Government is directing all Victorians to stay at home to help limit the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). To date, the majority of confirmed cases of coronavirus are linked to overseas travel, however there are an increasing number of locally acquired cases emerging in the community. By staying at home and limiting your contact with other people, we can all reduce the spread of the virus.
If you can stay home, you must stay home.

Who does this apply to, and when?

Everyone in Victoria. The ‘Stay at Home’ period begins from midnight on 30 March until midnight on 13 April 2020.

Is this compulsory, or voluntary?

It is compulsory. The Deputy Chief Health Officer of Victoria has issued a lawful direction as part of the current State of Emergency. It means that, except in limited circumstances, you should remain in your home.”

The weather tomorrow is forecast to be perfect for a ride. I have however suspended our Saturday’s ride until further notice due to the ever changing Covid19 environment we are experiencing. We are required to reduce our movements by staying at home for the time being to avoid being infected and for our community’s protection or worst still passing on to others. We also need to be seen to be doing the right thing too.

Please understand this does not preclude you riding individually or if you wish ride in small groups riding at a reasonable distance between riders.  Keep social distancing in mind when having our usual after ride coffee.

Tomorrow is the last Saturday of the month so if you wish to ride tomorrow as usual then the venue will be Yarragon departing at 8am. Please ride safely.

I will not be riding tomorrow – being grounded by my better half – need to keep my Brownie points intact!

Cool but dry weather tomorrow morning for our ride as forecast. Yes, it autumn so it will be  cooler in the morning and will soon be freezing in a  months or two time.

We will at 8am start from Darnum and ride our alternative course as a 4km stretch of Yarragon Shady Creek Road is still unsealed. Council advises sealing works is scheduled for 25 March and will last a could of days – weather permitting.

By the way, many of you have support Ian for his Lions Ride for Sight which was to start on 1 April 2020. This Ride has been cancelled due to the COVID19 pandemic. It is necessary for Ian as a Ride for Sight rider to contact those who have sponsored him to either return sponsorship money or to ascertain sponsors wishing to contribute their sponsorship to the Lions Ride for Sight fund raising for sight research.

Breezy and cold but it is forecast to be dry tomorrow so rug up for a  pleasant ride. I’m advised Yarragon Shady Creek is scheduled to be sealed between 25 to 28 March weather permitting. This means we will have to ride via Little Moe River Road as we have done for our last two rides. Darnum it is starting at 8am.

Variable weather over the last couple of days. I suppose it is the start of autumn. Tomorrow however is forecast to be a  little bit milder and probably not too damp.

Autumn is nearly upon us with cooler and occasionally damp weather in the morning. Tomorrow however, is forecast to be a little cool with patchy fog. This would mean it will be hopefully ok for a dry ride.

It the last Saturday of the month and a leap year and as usual we will start from Yarragon departing at 8am. We will have a couple of new riders doing the Rotary Convention Ride. Please make them welcome.

Weather for the weekend is forecast to be ideal for riding. The strong easterlies have died down and daytime temperatures are in the Goldie Locks range. So tomorrow will be great for our ride. Darnum it is starting at 8am.

Mild temperature in the morning but it may be a  little damp. Forecast for heavy rain in the afternoon so let’s make the most of it in the morning.

There is a long stretch of road works on Yarragon Shady Creek Road so we will have to take a slightly different course – ride along Darnum Shady Creek Road and on to Sthurs Road, turn right onto Nilma Shady Creek Road to Shady Creek. We then head south on Darnum Shady Creek Road to Little Moe River Road to Yarragon. From there on we follow our usual course to finish in Darnum. Simple.
