27 June 2020 Ride

Cool but fine weather is forecast for tomorrow’s ride. It’s the last Saturday of the month so we start from Yarragon leaving at 8am. Please have your lights on for the ride and ride as a cohesive group looking out for each other.

It will be partly cloudy with areas of fog and frost in the morning. Slight (20%) chance of a shower near Wilsons Promontory, near zero chance elsewhere. Light winds. Overnight temperatures falling to between zero and 4 with daytime temperatures reaching between 8 and 14.

20 June 2020 Ride

Theres speculation there might be a second Covid19 spike which could halt further easing of restrictions. We will still plan to ride from Darnum setting off at 8am. Hopefully it will not be too damp as forecast. Nevertheless be  prepared for a cold wet ride.

It is forecast to be cloudy with very high (90%) chance of rain, most likely in the morning. Snow falling above 1400 metres later. The chance of a thunderstorm. Winds north to northeasterly 15 to 20 km/h becoming light in the morning. Overnight temperatures falling to between 6 and 10 with daytime temperatures reaching between 11 and 17.

13 June 2020 Ride

It will be cold to almost freezing tomorrow however on the brighter side it is forecast to be dry. So rug up for the ride where we will be starting in Darnum leaving at 8am.

It may be  a bit foggy so please have your lights both front and rear on. Have something warm of the after ride coffee and chin wag.

Saturday will be coming cloudy. Areas of frost and the chance of fog in the morning. Medium (50%) chance of showers at night. Winds northwest to northeasterly 15 to 25 km/h. Overnight temperatures falling to between 1 and 4 with daytime temperatures reaching between 11 and 17.

6 June 2020 Ride

The weather tomorrow morning  is going to be fine but freezing – hey, it’s winter! We’ll just have to rug up appropriately. Yes. it’s back to Darnum where we will depart at 8am.

It will be mostly cloudy with areas of morning frost about the ranges. High (80%) chance of showers near Wilsons Promontory, medium (40%) chance elsewhere. Snow falling above 1300 metres. Light winds becoming southwesterly 15 to 20 km/h in the early afternoon then becoming light in the late evening. Overnight temperatures falling to between zero and 6 with daytime temperatures reaching between 9 and 14.

30 May 2020 Ride – Yarragon

As autumn gives way to winter and it promises to give us good weather with light winds for our last Saturday of the month ride. Yes, its 8am from Yarragon. It will be foggy so please have your batteries charged and lights on.

As with previous Saturday rides we will have our after ride coffees at Foggygobbles. have something warm for this after ride chin wag.

Saturday will be a patchy morning fog followed by a mostly sunny day with light winds becoming northerly 20 to 30 km/h in the morning. Overnight temperatures falling to between 1 and 6 with daytime temperatures reaching between 12 and 18.

23 May 2020 Ride

Paring back of restrictions still remains the same where we still need to ride in  than bunches of not more than ten like we did last Saturday.  Rug up as it will be cool tomorrow with little change of rain.

It’s Darnum again setting off at 8am. Please have your batteries charged and lights especially your rear lights for the ride.

As with last week bring along something warm for coffee after as we still have to have to have our coffees outside.

There will be areas of morning fog and patchy frost in the north, then a cloudy day. Medium (50%) chance of showers in the afternoon and evening. Light winds becoming south to southwesterly 15 to 25 km/h in the morning. Overnight temperatures falling to between 2 and 7 with daytime temperatures reaching between 9 and 15.

16 May 2020 – resumption of ride

Trust you are all well and have been handling the recent restrictions without too much hassel fitting a ride or three along the way.

“Chairman Andrews” has now relaxed the Victorian Covid19 19 restrictions where can now ride, still observing social distancing, in groups up to 10 riders. We will have to split into two or more groups should there be more than 10 riders.

Weather for this Saturday all be it being cool promises to be quite perfect for us to resume our normal Saturday group ride. Please not we will have to takeaway our coffees. We could mingle in the carpark and around the nature strip table and bench. Bring along a warm coat to keep warm for coffee. Look forward to catching up with you all on Saturday.

2 May 2020 Ride (suspended)

Aa much as we would like to meet for a ride the COVID restrictions precludes us from doing so but allows groups of two to ride. In any case the weather tomorrow however will not be conducive for a ride with cold wet and windy weather predicted.

The curve is such there is talk about lifting certain restrictions. Let’s see what will transpire in the following weeks. In the mean time stay safe. Hope you are all well and looking forward to our usual group rides.

25 April 2020 Ride (suspended)

It will be ANZAC day tomorrow and I hope some of you will be getting up at the crack of dawn to commemorate this auspicious  occasion from the driveway of your house.

It would be a good day weather wise to ride in our group but we just have to let this slide for time time being.

Trust you all have been riding on your own during this lock down period. I have – but very infrequently. Can’t wait for restriction to be lifted.

18 April Ride (suspended)

We are still in the lockdown mode during this ongoing Covid19 crisis so will have to ride independently to be doing the right thing. Nevertheless the weather tomorrow is forecast to be wet so it will not be a  big loss to suspend our ride.
