8 January 2022 Ride

Trust you are all keeping safe and well especially with the recent escalation of Omicron infections. Some of us have had to isolate recently. Fortunately nothing too serious.

We have been experiencing fickle weather lately. It has been hot humid and even wet at times. Tomorrow is forecast to be damp to wet with a south westerly wind. Ride departs at 8am from Darnum. We might have to revert to having coffee and ‘chewing the fat’ at the Darnum General Store should the weather not want to pay ball. Come prepared for all weather eventualities.

Tomorrow’s forecast is for a partly cloudy day with a high (70%) chance of showers about the ranges, slight (30%) chance elsewhere. The chance of a thunderstorm. Light winds becoming west to southwesterly 15 to 20 km/h in the morning then becoming light in the evening. 1 January 2022 – New Year Ride

Trust you all had a very Merry Christmas and are looking forward to working off the Christmas cheer. Our first ride for the year will be very hot so slip slop and slap will be order of the day. It will an 8am start from Darnum.Please come prepared for a hot ride. Be hydrated and keep hydrating during the ride. In the meantime have a Safe and Happy New Year.

It will be hot and mostly sunny. Slight (20%) chance of a shower about the ranges in the afternoon and evening. The chance of a thunderstorm with little or no rainfall in the afternoon and evening. Winds north to northeasterly 15 to 20 km/h turning northwesterly 20 to 30 km/h during the morning then becoming light in the evening. 25 December 2021 (Christmas!)

It’s not only the last Saturday of December and the year but is Christmas tomorrow! Needless to say that the ride if you are available will be from Yarragon. Ride safely in your groups.

18 December 2021 Pre Christmas Ride

Well summer has suddenly realised it has arrived! Warm start becoming hot my mud morning. Darnum depart at 8am. UV levels will be high so slip, slip, slap will be the order of the day.

Partly cloudy. Medium (50%) chance of showers. The chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon and early evening, with gusty winds about the ranges. Winds northwest to northeasterly 15 to 25 km/h tending north to northwesterly 25 to 40 km/h in the morning then turning west to southwesterly 20 to 30 km/h in the late afternoon. Overnight temperatures falling to between 15 and 19 with daytime temperatures reaching 27 to 33.

11 December 2021 Christmas Ride

Hi All, the weather tomorrow is forecast to be mild so it will be perfect for a Christmas ride. Come in something Christmasy to celebrate and mark a safe year for all of us.

We will start at 8am from Darnum but ride in the opposite direction of our usual course. Back to the Darnum Store for a Christmas catch up.

It will be cloudy. with winds south to southeasterly 15 to 25 km/h tending east to southeasterly during the day. Overnight temperatures falling to between 7 and 12 with daytime temperatures reaching between 13 and 20.

Changing weather over the past day or so but tomorrow will be a little cooler than it has been. Hopefully will be ok for a ride. 8am depart from Darnum it is.

For those who know Rob ‘Monkey’ Monk, who passed away last week, the cycling club will be holding a memorial service at the Warragul Cycling Club’s velodrome clubrooms at 2pm tomorrow. All welcome.

27 November 2021 Ride

Changeable weather predicted but with predicted mild in temperature hopefully allowing to have a good ride.

Last Saturday of November so it will be our Westbury ride starting from Yarragon at 8am. Ian will be away and will be an apology. Ride safely looking after each other along the way.

20 November 2022 Ride

The varied supposedly summer weather we experienced over the last week or so is forecast to stabilise for most the weekend. This mean we could have decent time for a good ride. Yes, it’s from Darnum setting off at 8am.

It will be cloudy with high (70%) chance of showers about the ranges, slight (30%) chance elsewhere. Light winds becoming southeasterly 15 to 20 km/h in the early afternoon then becoming light in the evening. Overnight temperatures falling to between 6 and 10 with daytime temperatures reaching between 15 and 18.

13 November 2021 Ride

Covid restrictions have been lifted however our chance of riding tomorrow seems tenuous as the forecast is for a wet windy day. Nevertheless the clouds might lift slightly for a couple of hours allowing us to have a ride. We will have to see. Ot might be coffee in Darnum instead of a ride.

Winds south to southeasterly 15 to 25 km/h turning west to southwesterly in the late morning and early afternoon. Tomorrow morning’s predicted mild weather promises to be perfect for our ride. UV levels will be a little high of its Slip Slop and Slap time. Have your batteries charged and light on for the ride. Safe riding.
