Ride for Research for Motor Neurone DiseaseSaturday 10th October, 2015A great mate John B (one member of Dad’s Army) who has unfortunately been struck with “the beast” of a disease MND. It is a most worthy cause and person to assist. Anyone can be assured of a solid ride, hopefully with an assisting westerly into Loch Sport to receive what I’m sure will be fantastic country seaside hospitality from the Loch Sport community and service Clubs have been huge contributors too.
Cox’s Bridge to Cox’s Place event will be a bike ride of approximately 64km from Cox’s Bridge in Sale to Cox’s Place in Loch Sport where participants and the general public can enjoy the options of receiving a massage, reflexology, naturopathy, blood pressure and cholesterol testing, as well as filling up on proteins, carbs, healthy foods, refreshments, photo opportunities with celebrities, entertainment and children’s activities.
The Inaugural event will be a one day ride to honour Bruce Cox the man (a Loch Sport Resident and long time employee of Wellington Shire), as well as his many accomplishments as a volunteer and tireless worker within both Sale & Loch Sport Communities and to celebrate with him the 50th Anniversary of his amazing Stawell Gift Win.
In 2014 Bruce Cox, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease and it’s his wish that we hold this event to raise awareness of this most heinous of illnesses and to support Motor Neurone Disease Victoria in the remarkable work they do in helping and supporting the victims of MND and their families.
Motor Neurone Disease is FATAL. It paralyses the body leaving the mind intact. There is NO known cause, NO cure and NO remissions. Average life expectancy is 2 to 3 years from diagnosis.
